It's one of the guys who got the letter from the NHRA about eh TV show Street Outlaws.

StangTV.com did a thing about it cause he has a very valid reason to stop the show.

The racing on the show takes place in a closed environment — there's no crowd, EMS and fire are on the property; it's not right to rip these guys' licenses because of a reality show," he adds. In other words, it's not what everyone thinks of when people say street racing.

It does take place on a public road, but the roads are shut down for the night while filming takes place. "If they were truly out street racing, I would 100-percent agree with the NHRA's stance," Murillo says. He told us the show even has tech officials who look over every car before being allowed to participate. "The racing is real," Murillo says, "but it's TV. It's way different than what people think of as street racing."

Ahh. Why didn't they mention that earlier. A lot of us have never seen the show. Top Gear have raced on closed down public roads, and we all watch Ken Block do things in front of cops on closed roads. Does the show pretend it is on live roads? Ohh, is it fake? It's fake isn't it?

Yes, while implying the reason they wanted to not say anything was that they pretend they are street racers. Guess I failed.

Well the guy who has Murder Nova did a article with HotRod Magazine a few months ago admitting everything about it is fake. Thought he didn't disclose if there was a "real" list but he did say he may or may not race in the streets.

Whether or not they close the streets off its still portrayed as street racing on TV no matter how staged it is so it sends the wrong message. That's why I feel like discovery needs to pull the show

I will preface this by saying street racing is bad and extremely dangerous and, I know the "street" part is fake but I watch the show almost every week because the cars are badass and the racing is real. Also, there's an El Camino on the show.

The NHRA is catching all kinds of shit for this.

Inteveiw with the head of NHRA PR.

I''m behind the NHRA, Staged or not, it's designed to look like street racing and that is glorifying it, I haven't watched the show aside from a few clips, and the show doesn't look that interesting at all regardless. If it was real, I'd be amazed they could find idiots to race.
